Inevitability Of Failure

Fear of failure is the one emotion that decides what we don’t do. That eternal question, “What if I fail?”

Really, what if you fail? Don’t get me wrong – Failure can be brutal. That said, is it really that bad? Let’s be honest. Failure has several consequences, but judgement is the big one. By judgement, I mean everyone’s opinion about us. Judgement is the big daddy of all emotions. People’s opinion of us is why we don’t do what we really want to do.

Have you ever found someone attractive at the bar but convinced yourself of a 1000 reasons about why you shouldn’t talk to her? When the only reason you don’t is because of the fear of failure. If only we could learn to conquer the fear of failure. I don’t know about anything else, but we would definitely be approaching a lot more women.

Before I began infive, I asked myself – What if I fail? I figured out the downside, the consequences that would bring and prepared myself for it.

When you’re 80 and you reflect back on life, you regret not what you did, but what you didn’t do. Regret is the counter emotion to failure. If you act, you could experience failure. But if you don’t act, you definitely experience regret.

“If you act, you could lose. But if you don’t act, you’ve already lost”
